Chairperson Jackie Smith and her committee are working hard to put together a great Good Neighbor Day Celebration on Friday, August 24. New this year are the other activities around town leading up to the event. They include:
Sunday, August 19 – Tour the Historical Clarkson Schoolhouse at 2pm .
Wednesday, August 22 – Red Cross Community Blood Drive coordinated by Sharon Mattison, town clerk located at Hafner Lodge 2-6pm.
Thursday, August 23 – Fill the (Highway) Truck Food Drive coordinated by Bob Viscardi, highway superintendent. Fill our truck with non-perishable goods so we can help neighbors by filling the food shelf. All day.
Friday, August 24 – Good Neighbor Day Celebration coordinated by Jackie Smith, town board. Loads of activities for families. Kids will enjoy the silly frog jumping contest at 7pm, outdoor movie “Despicable Me 3‘ at dusk followed by a great fireworks display! Be sure to eat dinner at the festival– great food will be served by the Lions Club and Abbotts will be there with ice cream.
There will also be music all afternoon and into the evening with the music of Warren & Friends Trio from 4-6pm followed by local favorite Josie Waverly 6:30-8:30pm. Oh.. and don’t forget the classic car show too!
Saturday, August 25 – Get the family out to run or walk the Swift Comet 5K Race hosted by the Clarkson Historical Society.
