TRANSFER STATION GUIDELINES

Location: REDMAN ROAD - Approximately 1 mile North of Ridge Road
Hours: Saturdays, 8 AM - 4 PM ALL YEAR and on Wednesdays from from 2 PM - 7 PM

Q: Who can hold a permit?
A: Clarkson residents or an owner of a Clarkson residence. The permit is only valid for the household garbage end recyclable from that residence.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: The fee is $160.00 per year (Jan 2007 - Jan 2008)

Q: What if I purchase the permit after January?
A: There is no prorated fee for current Clarkson residents if your purchase it later in the year. However, if you are a brand new Clarkson resident at the time of purchase, the Prorated fee is as follows: May - August = $110.00 and September - December = $50.00.

Q: How do I obtain a permit?
A: Come to the Town Clerk's office (open 8 AM - 4 PM Monday-Friday and the following Saturdays; January 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th. Be sure to bring your current registration to the vehicle you wish to place the sticker on and the fee.

Q: What if I replace my vehicle?
A: Remove the sticker from the former vehicle and bring it and your now vehicle's current registration to the Town Clerk's Office for an exchange. HAVE THE STICKER NUMBER READY.

Q: Where do I affix the sticker?
A: The sticker MUST BE AFFIXED To the driver's side rear window or rear bumper of the vehicle (outside). Anyone without the proper sticker on their vehicle will not be allowed to drop off. No exceptions!

Q: What will be accepted?
A: Household garbage (a maximum of 6, 30 gallon bags per week). Recyclables, (See Monroe County Recycling Regulations), metal items, lawn clippings and branches. The following is a list of non-household garbage items, and any associated additional fees that will be collected at the time of drop off.

  • TIRES: Car/PU = $2.00 ea., Large Truck $10.00 each, Large Tractor $20.00 each.
  • REFRIGERATORS/FREEZERS: $25.00 EA.
  • PROPANE TANKS: $2.00 EA.
  • AIR CONDITIONERS / DE-HUMIDIFIERS : $10.00 EA.
  • BULK ITEM (ie. Furniture & Bldg. Materials): 1- 50 lbs. Free, 50 -100 lbs. $5.00, each additional 100 lbs. $5.00. Level P/U truck toad $50.00.

    N0 CHARGE ITEMS:
  • Metal will be accepted - Wire, only, is to loaded into the open top container.
  • Brush & Tree Cuttings, Christmas trees
  • Lawn Clippings (grass cycling is encouraged)
  • Stone and Concrete.
  • Used Motor Oil.

Q: What will not be accepted?
A: The following items will not be accepted:

  • PAINT
  • ANTI FREEZE
  • HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS
  • FLAMMABLES
  • HOT ASHES

The Town Board reserves the right to revoke a permit, from any permit holder.
