I wanted to share that Supervisor Filipowicz received an update from the MCWA just minutes ago. Our two water samples have passed and this info will be going to the Monroe County Department of Health for further review. We’re getting closer!
My thanks to you all for your continued patience.
Many have been asking how long will those in impacted areas need to boil their water. Supervisor Christa Filipowicz just spoke with MCWA and they say 36-48 hours, however depending on their sampling results, it could be longer.
They are currently sampling water at approved locations in the area. Lifting the notice requires two sets of passing health samples which are taken 18-24 hours apart. Once passing samples are received they will be submitted to the Health Department requesting authorization to lift the boil water advisory.
Results from the first set should be ready this afternoon. At that time MCWA will be out to take the second set of samples. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
Last night there was a water main break on Lake Road in Clarkson. Supervisor Filipowicz was informed that the Monroe County Water Authority notified an number of residents in Clarkson that they should boil water as a precaution. Out of an abundance of caution they have now just expanded the advisory to include additional areas. See info
