By All Posts

The Town’s engineers, MRB Group, have provided the following update:

· The Contractor has installed all water main within the water benefit area.

· As of November 25th, Ireland Road, Drake Road, Lawton Road, Monroe Orleans County Line Road, Redman Road, West Avenue and Old West Avenue water mains are active and in service.

· Sweden Walker Road is currently delayed from being activated and in service due to a gas leak. This leak was not caused by the water project and is outside of the control of the Town, Contractor, and Engineer.

Drug Take Back Program

By All Posts

We all have unwanted or expired medications in our cabinets but disposing of them safely is easier than ever.

New York State offers a Drug Take Back Program, funded by pharmaceutical manufacturers, which provides residents with FREE mail-back supplies for disposing of unwanted medications, inhalers, and auto-injectors. According to the program, chain pharmacies must either have secure medication disposal drop boxes in their stores—like many local Walgreens and CVS locations—or provide customers with information about the mail-back program. Accepted pharmaceuticals include prescription and over-the-counter medications, veterinary medications, and nutritional supplements.

To order mail-back supplies and find convenient, secure disposal drop-off locations, residents can visit www.medtakebacknewyork.org or call the following toll-free numbers: (844) 4-TAKE-BACK or (844) 482-5322.

Please note that sharps and syringes are NOT accepted in this take back program, and they should not be placed in household recycling or trash. All hospitals and nursing homes in New York State are legally required to accept home-generated sharps as a free, community service through their sharps collection programs. Call first to find out hours, days and where to drop them off. Additional information and locations for sharps disposal can be found below. The ecopark also accepts unwanted medication and sharps from Monroe County residents at no cost with no appointment necessary.
