WIBA #1 – Update Feb 1, 2024

By All Posts

Water Improvement Benefit Area No. 1
Update as of 02-1-24

The status on the Clarkson Water Improvement Benefit Area No. 1 (WIBA #1) provided to the Town of Clarkson by its engineers, MRB Group, is as follows:

· Easement maps and descriptions were provided to Attorney Olson on 12/7/23. We have been working with him to respond to residents’ questions, and help to obtain the 29 signed easements required. Last update from Attorney Olson was that about 50% of the easements have been signed.
· MCWA is the only outstanding approval that the project needs regarding engineering. We addressed MCWA comments from 12/28/23 and returned revised plans and specs on 1/19/24.

We are still hopeful that the project schedule as of 11/1/23 is accurate (see below). The biggest hurdle is how quickly we can get all of the easements signed, notarized, and returned to Attorney Olson. It appears that everything else we need will be in place in the next couple weeks.

· Bidding of project early 2024
· Construction of project beginning spring 2024
· Construction completed and cleaned up spring/summer 2025

If you have any further questions on this project, please feel free to contact Scott Mattison, Engineer @ MRB Group, 585-340-3661 or Clarkson Town Hall 585-637-1130.

Seymour Library Open House – January 30

By All Posts

161 East Avenue, Brockport, NY 14420

Tuesday, January 30, 2024

4:00 – 7:00 PM

Come and Visit Your Seymour Library – Serving Brockport, Sweden and Clarkson

While the main focus of the Seymour Library continues to be the print collection of books and periodicals, an increasing volume of electronic materials are readily accessed via the internet and library online services. In recent months, the library created a variety of programs for patrons of all ages, enjoyed a fresh coat of paint throughout, planted a small “orchard” of fruit trees, and initiated a monthly exhibit by local artists of various media.

Literacy programs for toddlers through adults and learning activities designed to trigger interest and build competency in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) fields are geared to different age groups. Other services include computer access, printing services, genealogy research through the Ancestry database, 3D doodlers, and programs on safe driving to gardening and much more.

Seymour Library offers an exciting range of programs and services, but you may not be aware of all of them. Join library staff and volunteers for an open house sponsored by the Foundation of the Seymour Library scheduled for 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30 at the library, 161 East Avenue. Light refreshments will be available, and Seymour the Dragon will stop by. Call 637-1050 for more information.
