Historic Preservation Commission

The Clarkson Historical Preservation Commission’s purpose is to preserve the Town’s historic resources and potentially designate new properties.

Clarkson is home to a National Heritage area known as our “Clarkson Corners” featuring Greek Revival homes and several historic sites. The board also seeks to apply for various grants that are exclusively set aside for town governments that hold a “Certified Local Government” designation such as ours.

Clarkson is recognized as a Certified Local Government by New York State and the National Park Service, and the Preservation Commission is currently in the process of locally designating properties already within the National Heritiage District.

Schedule/Upcoming Events

The board meets once per month on the first Monday at 6:45 pm.
