The Rochester Museum & Science Center will be hosting a free community storytelling event at Gates Hall in Pultneyville this Sunday, May 5, from 3pm-5pm, sponsored by the Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society.
This will also serve as the last installation of Tyler Nordgren’s eclipse art exhibit, which has been touring our area for the past year. That exhibit is currently in an online auction to benefit the ALS Association, which closes on Sunday night. Please bid early and often to own a unique piece of Rochester history!
Gates Hall is our country’s oldest theater in continual use, and is the location of three speeches given by Frederick Douglass. The storytelling this Sunday will be a completely free and unscripted event that will allow everyone to help process and document their own personal eclipse story as part of the Rochester area’s history. Wayne County Tourism will be video recording the event, and an edited version will be available later in the year.
Please add this free event to your calendar!
The RMSC will still be collecting eclipse glasses to recycle for a few weeks before they donate them to Astronomers without Borders. Just bring any extras you have by the RMSC and leave them at the front desk.
As well, they have a compiled a video of the activity on eclipse day, viewable at https://vimeo.com/940530753?share=copy
